The Mizuno MP-52 irons have a newly designed twin cavity slit that deepens the center of gravity, providing an even more forgiving feel to the blade style head. The small cavity back on the irons was a great adition that made the clubs slightly easier to hit than a full muscle back, and this new update of an aditional cavity on top of that, should make for a pretty easy hitting club. It also maintains the feel Mizuno has been known for by being forged out of 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel. Overall great iron!

The Mizuno MP-62 is another great addition to the company’s iron line up. These irons feature new u-grooves meant for even more control, along with a great players club feel in the blade style head. They also incorporate the slight cavity, giving a bit more forgiveness than a standard blade.
This is one of our favorite irons out right now because it clearly represents 3 very important qualities. A clean look, great feel, and workability without being the most difficult club to hit.

The only downside to this set would be the size of the pitching wedge(above right). The head looks a shovel. It’s not necessarily a deal breaker, but definitely worth mentioning.
The TaylorMade TP MB Iron is by far one of the coolest looking irons we have ever seen! It has a glossy black finish called “smoke”(similar to the gun metal finish by Scotty Cameron) along with a super clean looking design and shape. These irons are also however one of the smallest/thinnest sets we have ever seen. The thinness of the top line at adress is bound to freak any “non-super ball striker” out, especially with some of the lower irons. Regardless, these are still some really slick looking clubs that you may definitely want to consider, if you think you have the ability to play them.

The AP2 Irons are a recent update that contribute to Titleist’s constant reach for an all around slicker club. They also have the slit in the cavity back similar to the Mizuno MP-52. This design is intended to give the club a better center of gravity allowing it to be slighlty more forgiving, while maintaing the playability of the muscular back design.

The Titleist ZB Irons are a combo style iron set that also add to the already sleek line up coming from Titleist. They tend to be a bit pricier than most other irons, but then again they are some of the most well made clubs on the market.
Callaway’s updates to its “Tour Authentic” Line seem to be similar to the TP line that TaylorMade offers. A bit pricey, but completely inspired and used by tour players.

Callaway’s new drivers will be taking advantage of the new USGA rules on adjustability for 2008. The FT-5 and FT-i driver heads will be sold without a shaft and will come with a tool that will easily allow the player to change between a mixture of 50 different types of compatible shafts. This will allow the buyer to easily match their club setup with the exacts specs meant for their swing.
The FT-i will be available in either draw or neutral weighting with 9º, 10º, and 11º lofts.
The FT-i Tour will be availble in the new Low Center of Gravity model in both draw and neutral with lofts of 9.5º and 10.5º degrees.
