Izzo Golf is pleased to announce the launch of the next generation SWAMI 1500 Golf GPS. The new SWAMI employs a number of firmware updates designed to improve performance and make it easier to use.  According to David Witkoski, Marketing Manager for Izzo Golf, “ This new version of the SWAMI offers an auto-shut off feature to preserve battery life and provide more rounds with a single charge. The SWAMI will no longer need to be manually shut down and golfers will get more play out of the 16-hour battery charge. We have also added a low charge alert feature that lets the golfer know when to recharge the SWAMI.”

The SWAMI is a fast, and accurate, and affordable golf GPS unit that retails for $99.99. There is a  $9.99 membership fee for access to all USA and Canadian courses. Renewal of the fee is optional and the last 10 courses loaded will remain on the unit in perpetuity.

Jeff Gage, EVP of Sales, adds: “We believe that offering a reliable Golf GPS unit for under $100 will help grow the entire GPS category. This will help more golfers enjoy the benefits of a GPS unit which promotes lowers scores and faster play.”

The SWAMI 1500 golf GPS is by far one of the best golf GPS’s we have tested at SpyGolfer. It is very accurate, easy to use, and reliable. It can even hold its own against a laser range finder because it really is so simple and convenient. No need to worry about aiming, pressing a button, or making sure that you have the right distance. You just look at it and it gives you the correct yardages to the front, middle, and back of the green, every time. It’s also nice to know how far you have to the pin from any angle on a hole. Like when your behind some tress or bushes that aren’t meant to be in your line. We would also like to mention how simple it is to load golf courses on the GPS. At first we were a bit weary of this step, but it actually turned out to be as easy as plugging it in to your PC, and clicking the courses you want.

All in all a great alternative to laser finders; especially, if you are a higher handicapper just looking for something thats easy to use, and much more affordable.
