Retief Goosen was testing the new 2010 TaylorMade R9 TP Version "B" out at the BMW Championship. These heads are Cast 8620 soft like the Burner Version "B"; however, you will see that they have a darkened color. Goosen really seemed to like them. He and his caddy said they were impressed with them on day 1, but he wont switch till after the tour Championship. The Black insert feels soft to the touch like a Rubber material. Pretty sick grinds and shape. They seem to be more like a typical players blade that you would expect the average tour pro or low handicapper to have.

i dont know why tm have not made a good iron from back in 2006 when they made tp mb smokes irons which still to this day have the best feel of all time i have used there new gear and you would not stick it on the same rack as the tp mb because they are quality irons and not a shit iron so u can see what i think of there new gear and i bet that sergio and the goose wish they were still using tp mb smokies because they are a genuine forged iron with class.

^ Dude, if Sergio and Goosen “wish” they were using the MB Smokes, then they would be instead of playing the R9’s. These guys get paid to play ANY club they want as long as it’s Taylormade. So why would they play these clubs if they “wish” they were playing the MB Smokes instead? That doesn’t make any sense man.
